Services for Families

Scope of Services for Families

What makes my services different is the level of personalization, presence, and partnership I bring to every case. I don’t just consult from a distance—I work with you, side by side.

Here’s how I stand out:

  • In-person support: I can attend IEP or 504 Plan meetings in person, offering direct advocacy and collaboration.

  • Tailored materials: I create personalized resources and documentation to meet the unique needs of each student and team.

  • Team-based recommendations: I offer thoughtful suggestions for team members to consider—always aligned with student strengths, needs, and family input.

  • Stakeholder collaboration: With family consent, I connect and communicate with medical teams, therapists, school staff, and other community partners to ensure consistent support.

  • Restoring trust: When school-family relationships have been strained, I help rebuild communication, trust, and shared purpose—so everyone can refocus on what matters most: the student.

My approach is grounded in compassion, clarity, and a deep belief that collaboration drives meaningful outcomes.

Speak Up For Education Consulting, LLC will provide professional educational consulting services to support families in navigating educational systems and processes. These services may include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing educational records (IEPs, evaluations, 504 Plans, FBA/BIP, etc.)

  • Preparing written input, questions, or summaries

  • Attending meetings (IEP, 504, disciplinary, mediation, etc.)

  • Advising on educational rights, options, and processes

  • Coordinating with schools or service providers as permitted

  • Providing training to families

  • Creating documentation that supports the implementation of IEPs, BIPs, and 504 Plans

All services provided by Speak Up For Education Consulting, LLC are advisory in nature and designed to support families navigating the educational system.

I am not a licensed attorney and do not provide legal advice or legal representation. If you have questions that involve legal rights or require legal interpretation, I encourage you to consult with a qualified attorney.

I’m committed to providing high-quality, professional educational consulting services tailored to each family’s needs. Services are offered within reasonable professional limits and based on my expertise.

To ensure ethical and effective support, I may respectfully decline requests that:

  • Fall outside the agreed-upon scope of services

  • Conflict with professional standards or ethics

  • Are not feasible within my availability or area of expertise

If a need arises that goes beyond my services, I’m happy to recommend other trusted professionals or resources when possible.

What Families Should Know!

  • Public schools must follow the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and provide a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE).

  • Private schools that do not receive federal funding are not required to follow the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) or provide a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE).

  • Private schools that do receive federal funding must comply with IDEA and FAPE.

  • Voucher schools follow the same standards: if they receive federal funding, they are subject to IDEA and FAPE; if not, those requirements do not apply.

  • All private and voucher schools, regardless of funding status, must comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by providing reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities.

Family Responsibility

  •  Provide accurate, up-to-date information necessary for services.

  • Notify the Consultant of upcoming meetings or deadlines with sufficient notice (preferably 5–10 business days).

  • Secure and provide written permission for the Consultant to communicate with third parties, if desired.

  • Maintain respectful and professional communication at all times.

Communication & Availability

You’re welcome to reach out by email, phone, or text—whatever works best for you and the situation. I do my best to respond within two business days during my standard hours:

Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM CST.

If I’m out of the office for holidays or scheduled time off, response times might be a little longer, but I’ll always get back to you as soon as I can.

Expectations & Responsibility

I bring years of experience and dedication to every family I work with, and I’m committed to helping you make informed, empowered decisions about your child’s education. That said, it’s important to understand a few things:

No Guaranteed Outcomes

While I offer professional guidance based on expertise and best practices, I cannot guarantee specific results. Educational decisions often involve multiple parties—such as schools, districts, or service providers—and outcomes depend on many factors outside of my control.

Limits of Liability

My role is to advise and support—not to make decisions on behalf of schools or agencies. I’m not responsible for the choices made by others, including educational institutions or third-party providers.

Though I carry professional liability insurance, my liability is limited to the total amount paid for services. I cannot be held responsible for indirect or unforeseen outcomes related to actions taken by others.

Ultimately, families remain in control—and I’m here to walk alongside you with trusted support, honest insight, and deep commitment to your child’s success.

Services & Fees

I offer a free 15-minute introductory call to help determine what level of support fits best.

Payment Info
Fees are discussed and agreed upon before services begin with a signed agreement.

Invoices will be issued on the last calendar day of each month for all services rendered during that month. Payment is due within fourteen (14) days of the invoice date.

Accepted methods of payment include:

  • Venmo
  • Cash
  • Personal or Bank Check

Payments not received within 14 days of the invoice date may be subject to a late fee of $25.00 or 1.5% of the total invoice amount, whichever is greater, unless prior arrangements have been made in writing.

After-Hours Services

My standard business hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM CST. While I do my best to accommodate families during these times, I understand that schedules can vary.
